This week in GAM 701 we we're given until the end of the week to create a prototype of our texted based game. This was a bit of a stretch as we received another game jam from 702 and haven't had time to really get any ideas going or set up a repo in version control. The only advice given to us was to "time manage", which is easier said then done.
The point of a game jam is to take up all your time, and having 2 at the same time really doesn't help. luckily when it comes to GAM702 I had a previous project that I semi started before the first lock down that I dug out. where as, for GAM701 We found it hard to get meeting times as we were all in separate lectures.
The presentation went okay. we had our main elements in the game where an NPC would need something and the player would have to go and find the item they wanted. It was just very stressful getting the prototype done the night before as that's the only time we we're all free.
GAM702 gave us another game jam with the theme of "Memes". This was a bit unprofessional for a masters degree but we are doing it none the less. like I said before I had a project i haven't touched in ages that I'm going to use. The game itself is a joke. you break boxes. That's it. simple to make and simple to play. Break all the boxes for the highest score.
